COPS
Facts Sheet (PDF)
Frank Wigley and Pat
France began KD COP by patrolling in 1995. We
currently patrol surrounding neighborhoods as well
including; Knollwood Donnybrook, Fellowship Forest,
Aigburth Manor, Aigburth Vale Mansion Senior Community,
Overbrook Community and Donnybrook Apartments.
With help from all these communities, we try to keep
crime out. KDCOP is part of a larger organization
called Towson Area Citizens On Patrol, started by Pat
France (Knollwood Donnybrook resident) and Janice
MacGregor-Arcieri (Stoneleigh resident) in 2000.
TACOP is made up of 24 Towson communities with the motto
of CRIME IS NOT WELCOME IN TOWSON.
To
Be A KDCOP Patroller
To get started you need to
get some training on the road. Training is about 1
hour. You can walk, bike or drive. If you
drive we will give you two red and white magnetic COP
signs and a yellow revolving light for the top of your
car. We offer you a T-SHIRT and/or long sleeved
sweat shirt to wear. Keep in mind, COP can be done
with or without the lights and signs. We always
need to have a charged cell phone on our person.
Walk, bike, jog, drive...all good ways to do patrols.
WE ARE ALL CITIZENS ON PATROL AT ALL TIMES. Be
extra vigilant when coming and going into and out of our
community.

RULE#1:
Never Get Involved. Never Get Out Of Your Car.
See something... say
something. Call 410-887-2222 if it is
not URGENT or 911 if it is
URGENT.
-
Example of NOT URGENT
would be the back door of Towson High School is
standing open and no cars are around.
-
Example of
URGENT...you see an auto accident or underage kids
drinking or partying in the streets.
When you do make a call,
identify yourself as "Knollwood Donnybrook COP".
Answer all questions as asked.
We
Are All Volunteers

You can never sue KDCOP if
you have a mishap with your car. You can add up
your volunteer mileage and report it as volunteer miles
on your tax return (if you keep a log). We request
you do at least one HOUR a MONTH. More is
terrific. Less is ok too. You do not have to
schedule with me. If you see another COP car, just
wave.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR
INTEREST IN GIVING BACK TO YOUR COMMUNITY.
Questions or comments
welcome. Call me to get started.
