Knollwood

Towson is in the midst of a renaissance. And the best place to be part of this renaissance is in one of Towson’s most livable, diverse and vibrant communities. Within walking distance of the heart of Towson, Knollwood is a sought after urban oasis known for tree-lined streets; quiet evening walks, and a strong community spirit. It’s the perfect place to be part of Towson’s renaissance or sit back and watch it unfold.

Walkability

Since Knollwood is one of the closest communities to downtown Towson, everything is within a safe and easy 20-minute walk. That’s a 20-minute walk to our many sidewalk cafes and restaurants. Or 20-minute walk to a yoga studio, farmers’ market, latest blockbuster movie or world-class shopping mall. Just want a short walk, bike or run? It’s right outside your door on any of our quiet streets.

Diversity

Like Towson, Knollwood offers something for everybody. We have a wide range of housing styles and architecture. We offer mid-century modern, quaint, cozy or colonial. Our safe streets and award winning schools make Knollwood attractive to families. Young professionals are attracted to Towson’s vibrant social life and the easy commute to Baltimore’s downtown career opportunities. Students love the close proximity to Towson University and upon graduation; many stay with us as permanent neighbors.

Community

In Knollwood, it’s our strong community spirit that has been attracting homebuyers for decades. Throughout the year, our community organizes events that bring us together for fun or for a cause. Each summer, we have a series of summer block parties, our Haunted Halloween celebration is becoming a Towson institution that gets media coverage each year, and Santa makes a personal appearance in December. We’re keeping Knollwood green by leading the efforts to establish the Six Bridge Trail, holding yearly tree drives, and organizing a community spring cleanup.

In 2020, we held Towson’s first and highly successful neighborhood based music festival. “A Walk Among The Music” was a needed celebration of good, health, good music, and strong community.

The mission of the Knollwood Association is to keep our residents connected to each other and to the Greater Towson region.

Knollwood Charm

We are fortunate to live in a neighborhood with great people, lovely houses, and mature trees, but Knollwood-Donnybrook is far more than the sum of its parts. There is also something wonderful and intangible on every block: Knollwood Charm.

It shines through in the creative and joyful ways neighbors bring the community to life, like decorations that brighten entire blocks, pop up concerts, donations collected in front yards, free little libraries, and neighbors gathering in the streets.

Knollwood Charm is the pride we take in where we live, the care we show for one another, and the spirit that makes our neighborhood truly special.

Thank You Neighbors

Knollwood-Donnybrook is strengthened every day by neighbors who show up for each other, for our neighborhood, and for the wider community.

Generous neighbors give their time and resources to maintain our median strips, support membership efforts, and organize neighborhood gatherings. Your contributions make a visible difference. Our time together at concerts on the porch, TGIF socials, holiday celebrations, and so much more has built lasting connections.

Neighbors also step up in meaningful ways beyond our blocks by providing holiday meals for first responders, packing food for local families, supporting student-led drives, and contributing to community-wide efforts that make a real impact across Baltimore County.

To our volunteers, members, donors, and participants: thank you! Your community spirit is what makes Knollwood-Donnybrook such a special place to call home.
